The back of a mini-bus. A van in the next lane over. And, the flyover under construction.
It's supposed to be the longest flyover in Asia, at 11 kilometers! But, it's going to be a little while before it becomes fully operational, obviously. In the meanwhile, traffic from Gachibowli to Mehdipatnam comes to a standstill every morning and evening.
Something that really gets me about this flyover is the fact that it has no on or off-ramps other than the main ones. I mean, I'd expect to see at least four or five of these for an 11-km stretch of road-in-the-sky. What if I want to access this flyover from somewhere in the middle because that's where I live? Do I have to go all the way to the beginning and then get on? How does that help me save time or "fly over" anything? What if there's a major collision on the flyover? How are the emergency services personnel going to get to the injured? Or, how are they even going to get the damaged vehicles, and the associated debris, cleared up without being able to get on the flyover at a point near the scene of the accident? And what will all this do to the traffic on the flyover?
