And now, for the autographs. This was 1998 or 1999, and teams looked very different from what they do these days. D'uh. More importantly, I think this was the highlight of my personal and professional life, albeit at the end of highschool, and I have to say that I haven't really felt more alive-and-kicking since that time. If you check out the pictures in that last link, you can see Coach flanked by Moses on his left, and me on the right. He he he... Oh, I'm laughing because of what I'm doing in that picture.
The players who walked into the bar that Coach happened to be in at the time are Rex Chapman, Luc Longley, Joe Kleine, Tom Gugliotta and Jason Kidd. Each one of them is a legend in his own right. Thank you gents for taking the time to honor a fine bunch of highschoolers -- and a great team we were, mind you -- all the way in Kodaikanal, Tamil Nadu, India. I speak for the team when I say, "We really appreciate it."
For whatever reason, I haven't been following basketball since this time. Not, at least, with the same religious fervor that made me wake up at 5 am just to catch an NBA game -- not even a playoff matchup -- sitting in front of the TV in a dark room, in my house in Thalassery, Kerala, India. Wow! Some basketball fanatic I was back then, huh? Still love the game though.
