Of the current lot of fifteen cats and kittens, the one staring back at the camera is the oldest. The only surviving member of a litter of two, it's given birth to several litters of its own. Unfortunately, most of these kittens haven't survived. But, she's at least 5 years old, which is excellent given that she's the only surviving member of her generation. With wild dogs, snakes, mean humans and other perils about, that's worth an honorable mention.
You can see one of the other female cats drinking some fish-flavored water in the background. She looks about ready to deliver in a couple of weeks. Oh, I call it "fish-flavored water" because it's the water my mother washes the gutted fish in. The cats seem to love the idea, especially when it follows a fish head and innards snack.
