Boiling rice on the wood stove


I know I've taken a couple of pictures of this already, but this one I had to take because the pot was almost boiling over. It looked violently comforting, if you can understand that idea. ;-)

The reason we use the wood stove to cook the rice is that because rice takes a while to cook, we end up saving on LPG usage. Back in the day, when it used to take us months to get a replacement on an empty LPG cylinder, this is how we ensured that we could still cook our meals. But maybe nowadays, we'll have to start considering our carbon footprint in terms of such lifestyle aspects as well. Hmm...
