Not in full swing yet, because it just got here, but the SE Monsoons have arrived. This is both good and bad news, however. It's good news for most of us because it means the sweltering heat of summer is finally over, here in Kerala. Also, the sight of lush, wet, greenery just an arm's reach away is undeniably refreshing. However, the bad news part relates to people like my uncle who have to travel 22 kms by bus, in this weather, to get to work. He's been doing it for the last 30 years though, but you can still catch a glimpse of oh-no-it's-raining in his eyes on mornings like this. Oh well, such duality is always the case with things like this, I suppose.
This is what the front of the house looks like. I would call it a lawn, but there's on grass here. And now, there's a steadily growing puddle here. It's 10am now, and it looks like dusk. Looks like we may not see the sun until tomorrow. Given the scorching heat we've had to endure, that's a good thing. ;-)
