This is a botanical anomaly that presented itself to our esteemed neighbor, Sarala aunty, as I affectionately call her. At first glance, I didn't think of this as a parasite, but it did seem to have a very rafflesia-like air about it. Funny, because rafflesia is a parasite. My uncle confirmed that it was parasitic, and that it had some association with the ginger plant.
But what a strangely beautiful flower it is, eh? Heard someone say they could see Lord Ganesha in it. That, perhaps, is taking things a bit too far. ;-)
