Some 'questionable' labels on these bottles at the Indo-French Open Bar in Mahe, Kerala. Mahe, well popular for it's lower prices on alcoholic beverages has long been a haven for people seeking out a couple of drinks. And yes, this is why I was here too.
When asking the waiter - often referred to as a "bearer" here in India - what softdrinks/sodas he had available, I really thought he said "Sprite." So, I said ok and asked him to get some soda as well. When he brought us our order - notice I slipped in the fact that I was not alone - I was pleasantly suprised to see a green bottle of "Sprint" and some "Mr. Sno" soda. Perplexed for a couple of seconds initially, the first thought that crossed my mind was, "Sprint? Isn't that the phone company?" But, after coming to terms with our surroundings, we decided that these knock-offs, if that is indeed what they were, weren't all that bad. But still, it was funny to be served a potentially spurious beverage. Well, at least we think the alcohol was alright. ;-)
